Curtains for a national hero

He is no longer of this world, that accidental hero who saved our economy more than we’ll ever know. David Munyakei has passed on, and all that's reported (so far) is that he developed breathing difficulties, was admitted to hospital and is now no more.

Not quite the end I had pictured, I’d dared hope that someday sooner than later, he would be compensated for alerting us to the existence of the Goldenberg hydra. There is no doubt the disappointment of being unappreciated (in a manner that made sense to his life, and could have saved his life, financially) weighed him down. May he rest in peace at last.

My thoughts go to the family he has left behind… I’m sure they will return to the coast, but is there a place for them there? Is there a place for them in Olokurto? What will happen to those girls?
